I don’t believe in god (but I used to). However, being a scientist doesn’t mean you can’t be religious – I know lots of scientists who believe in god! There are lots of different religious societies at Imperial too. Everyone is welcome, and you can still believe in god and work in science!

As Mike says, there are plenty of scientists who are religious, just as there are plenty who aren’t.

It’s difficult to believe in all of the religious texts completely as a scientist (for example, it’s hard to believe the creation story in the bible when you know that animals evolved from other life forms, rather than being made) but that doesn’t mean scientists don’t believe in god.
