• Question: Do you think that you will be able to make computers as clever as Humans? How long do you think it would take to make it happen? :-)

I think eventually we can. Some people think it’s impossible to do this – there’s a man called Roger Penrose who thinks that the human brain can’t be simulated using computers.

But I don’t agree. However, it will take a long time. I don’t think I’ll live to see it, for certain. Some areas of computer science move very quickly, and we can make very fast progress. But real, genuine intelligence in computers is going to be very tough indeed!

The thing with humans is that they aren’t perfect at anything – computers can beat us at Chess, at Go, they can find better paths on a map, they can do loads of things better than us! But we can do lots of things at once. Most computers and programs can only do what they were made to do. Making a computer that can learn and do as much as humans can will be very hard indeed. 🙂

      Great quesiton!
