If you drew a line from a point on the equator through the centre of the Earth and out to a point on the equator on the opposite side that line would be about 12 800 000 metres.

If instead you start at a point on the equator and walk around the top of the earth to a point on the equator on the opposite side you would have walked about 20 000 000 metres! (I wouldn’t like to have to walk that far!)
