Question: what is ectoplazm?

I had to look up this one: apparently ectoplasm is something that is supposedly given off by mediums (like people who say they are psychic or who say they can talk to the dead) when they are in a trance. It is supposed to be white/grey and quite thick although apparently it can also turn to mist.
The cases of ectoplasm that have been investigated have been shown to be fraud (the person was using other things like egg white to create the effect). I don’t think there are any cases where ectoplasm has ever been shown to be real so I suspect it doesn’t exist.
I wonder if the other scientists know more…

I had no idea either and like Emma I had to look this topic up. But I have to say I am rather sceptical that ectoplasm actually exists…

I’m not to sure about the whole thing either, I may only be a student, but I’m quite sure that ectoplasm is simply an urban myth and does not really exist.
