      Hmmm there are lots of germs out there that can kill us. I don’t know which would be the deadliest.

      Rabies is pretty nasty. Rabies is caused by a virus. We can get the virus if we are bitten by an animal that is already infected with the virus, like a dog (we’re really lucky in the UK because we are rabies free – that’s why we have such strict dog quarantine laws for dogs that come here).

      It’s almost always deadly within a few days.

      If you are unlucky enough to get infected you start off by getting a headache and fever which then develops into spasms and (bizarrely) a fear of water. Finally you would slip into a coma and eventually stop breathing and die.
