My area definitely isn’t the best, but it’s the one I enjoy the most. Scientists all like different areas of their fields and go to them for different reasons!

I chose mine because making computers do things is a lot of fun, but there are still so many things we don’t know how to do. Why can’t computers talk, or think, or invent? How can we use all the data that’s lying around the Internet to make our computers smarter and more helpful? Those are exciting questions, and we’re only just beginning to answer them. It’s an exciting time to do this research!

I don’t think my topic of study is the best, it’s just part of the science landscape. I am interested in enzymology and worked in DNA repai but part of the reason I do my current job is because there was an opening for a researcher in my boss’ group at the time I was looking for work.

I don’t think my area of research is the best but I do think it is really important. Although I deal specifically with one type of food poisoning I’m actually interested in all the diseases we can get from animals. As lots of us have pets or go to petting zoos or just come across sea gulls in the park, I think it’s really important to learn about the diseases these animals can give us so that hopefully we can stop them.
