• Question: wwhy do we have operations?

      We have operations when there is something wrong with our bodies and the only way to fix it is for a surgeon to go in and open up part of our body.

      Sometimes bits of our body are removed (like you might have your appendix taken out), sometimes bits of our body are repaired. Every operation is done for a different reason.

      Sometimes we have operations so doctors can get a better look at what’s going on inside us! I think this is what they call “exploratory surgery”.
