• Question: How Old Was The first Sword?

      I had to look this one up! Bladed weapons are thousands of years old – right back to the Bronze Age. But because metal was hard to forge into big shapes, most blades were tiny – they were more like knives than swords. Some metals aren’t very strong in certain situations, and they might snap if you tried to use them incorrectly! Not so great in the middle of a fight with a dangerous animal (or someone with a big rock).

      Metals like steel were apparently much better for sword-shaped things, but things that look like swords have been found that are about 4000 years old! It’s a pretty old weapon.
