      The characteristics that make someone ‘manly’ (like hair on the face, low voice etc.) are mostly caused by high levels of testosterone. As I understand it more testosterone makes you have more male-like characteristics.

      Generally most men will have more testosterone in their bodies than most women, but because this is Biology it is never simple and so there is some overlap and some women can have more testosterone than some men.
