• Question: Why do bananas have small brown spots on them when they are ripe? Why does no other fruit do that?

      Good question. The brown spots are where the banana has started going mushy which is the result of fermentation by microbes in the environment. The rotting and fermentation does occur in other fruits too, it’s just takes longer to start as these fruits are harded in the first place. But why that makes them more resistant to rotting, I’m not too sure.
