      I think this planet will eventually end – but not for a very long time. Stars like our Sun eventually become unstable and explode! That’ll definitely spell the end for planet earth, but it’ll take billions of years for that to happen.

      I think we’ll be fine until then. It’s certainly more than enough time to build a house or two in another solar system!

      Yes, the planet will eventually be swallowed up by the expanding sun (like other stars, it will come to this natural end of its lifetime) but not for a long time yet. I suspect there might be a dying out of our species earlier, just like happened to the dinosaurs, but that it a real guess…

      As Mike and Blanka said – the end of the Sun will end life on this planet but that is billions of years away.

      However, life on the planet may well have disappeared before then, especially if we as humans carry on treating the planet as our own personal playground (like with global warming).

      Or as Blanka said, perhaps there will be a meteorite strike that will cause life to die out?
